PROGRAMME - B. Com : 3 year full time

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) 3 year full time programme is designed to meet the requirement of Commerce graduates in the professional field of business. The degree provides the students with a wide range of managerial skills while at the same time builds competence in particular areas. The B.Com curriculum focuses both on academic subjects, such as statistics or economics, as well as on practical business subjects, such as accountancy, law, management, marketing , finance , etc.

 

Admission and its Procedure

Application for admission into the NERIM Commerce College shall be made in the prescribed application form issued by the college on payment of requisite fees
Admission is made as per provision of the prescribed Regulation of the Gauhati University. However, there can be an admission committee whose decision for admission shall be final.
Admission into college is STRICTLY IN ORDER OF MERIT AND SHALL BE GOVERNED BY ADMISSION RULES ISSUED BY NERIM AND IN COMPLIANCE TO THE REGULATIONS OF GAUHATI UNIVERSITY.
Candidates are required to produce at the time of interview the original copies of-
(a) Mark sheet of the last qualifying examination.
(b) Age proof certificate
(c) Character certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
(d) Caste certificate from competent authority wherever necessary.
(e) Students passing the qualifying examination earlier than the current year will have to submit a Court Affidavit (Candidates having more than one year gap will not be eligible for admission).
No application form shall be accepted after the last date as notified earlier and any incomplete application form will stand automatically cancelled.
Admitted students shall be required to give an undertaking in the prescribed form in regard to compliance of the Rules, Regulations and Order issued by the University and NERIM authority from time to time. A selected candidate for admission into B.Com Course shall be admitted provisionally. However, there admission shall be required to regularize by the University.

Selection of candidates shall be made on the basis of their results in 10+2, or as per the notifications of Gauhati University from time to time.

Specialized papers: (Any one the following paper is compulsory for Major students)

105. Introduction to E-Commerce (E-Commerce)

(II) B.Com Semester II Major and General Course

In B.Com Semester II a candidate of both Major and General Course shall be required to offer the following papers of 100 marks each. General paper:

203. Principles of management.
204. Business Statistics.
Specialized papers: (Any one the following paper is compulsory for Major students)

205. Micro Credit Intuitions (Finance)
205. Essentials of E-Commerce (E-Commerce).

(III) B.Com Semester III Major and General Course:

In B.Com Semester III a candidate of both Major and General Course shall be required to offer the following papers of 100 marks each. General papers:

304. Direct Taxes
305. Corporate Law.
Specialized papers: (Any one the following paper is compulsory for Major students)

(IV) B.Com Semester IV Major and General Course:

In B.Com Semester IV a candidate of both Major and General Course shall be required to offer the following papers of 100 marks each. General paper:

403. Indirect Taxes
404. Financial Services.
Specialized papers: (Any one the following paper is compulsory for Major students)

405. Web-Designing (E- Commerce).

(V) B.Com Semester IV Major and General Course:

In B.Com Semester V a candidate of both Major and General Course shall be required to offer the following papers of 100 marks each. General paper:

503. Financial Management
504. Regulatory Framework in Business- I
Specialized papers: (Any one the following paper is compulsory for Major students)
505. Financial Statement Analysis (Accountancy)
505. Customer Relations and Retail Trade Management (Management)
505. International Trade (Finance)
505. E-Commerce (Practical) (1 Credit + 2 hours for Practical)


(VI) B.Com Semester VI Major and General Course:

In B.Com Semester VI a candidate of both Major and General Course shall be required to offer the following papers of 100 marks each. General paper:
601. Information Technology in Business.
Core paper:
602. Marketing of Services.
603. Modern Banking Practices.
604. Regulatory Framework of Business II
Specialized paper: (Common for all Major Students)
605. Project report (on any Topic of Commerce, Economics, Business, Industry or Service Sector).
